“Om Mani Padme Hum” is a single by Dominika Dominiak, who went on a trip to Jamaica to record music for mantras in an ancient language – Sanskrit.
The single is the result of collaboration with Kabaka Pyramid Band “Bebble Rockers Band” recorded in the iconic Graftos Studio in Kingston, as well as with Polish outstanding musicians such as the legend of Polish jazz and rock Alek Korecki (saxophone). The single had its premiere in October 2017 on Radio Four (Radio Czworka) in Dread Zone. The single was getting more and more sophisticated in Leszek Możdżer’s studio in Wrocław.
“Dominika Dominiak has made an extraordinary combination of Eastern spirituality with the warm sound of Roots Reggae music, which fills the space with positive vibrations and introduces the listener to well-being and harmony.
Mantra OM Mani Padme Hum, the most famous mantra in Tibet, comes from ancient India and was adopted into Buddhism in the 10th century AD. It is a bodhisattva mantra of compassion (bodhisattva in Sanskrit means awakened good). The literal translation of Aum Mani Padme Hum mantra is: worship the jewel in the lotus. One of the more literary translations is: Praise to the jewel in the lotus. Depending on the Buddhist school, mantras are pronounced differently.
